Soft Freeze

I stepped back outside, a slight chill shot down my spine. I don’t often go outside after midnight but I felt like enjoying the weather. It has been only a few months since I said farewell to my old city, but here I am in the middle of nowhere. I have been working random jobs that require a lot of manual labor, I remember someone telling me that working hard labor is a great way to get old quick. Though now that is just a distant whisper in my memories, I can’t even remember who told me that or when they said it. But tonight it sure is nice, it’s warm with a slight chill in the air.

This place, that I moved to, is hot most days, but the nights sure are nice. Looking into the night sky is a lot better out here, the stars seem a lot more dazzling here than where I am from. I can just stare into the night sky and lose myself, a calm just flows through the body. The night truly is the complete opposite from the day, I hardly ever have the time to stop and think about what is going on during the day.

The days sure are rough, they may not be too difficult now that I look back on them under the night sky. But while the day takes place it just seems to sweep me with the flow, with waves and waves of things I am not used to or have never done before. I often feel like I am drowning under the hot sun, until the night comes with its refreshingly cool wind. It seems to rejuvenate me reminding me that the day isn’t truly that tough.

Out here really is great it’s just me, the seemingly endless night sky, and this soft yet cool breeze. During the day I feel like constantly giving up, the heat just feels like it is just too much and during the hottest of days. I still sometimes feel the soft chill breeze or a reprieve from the sun in the form of a cloud gliding into a position between me and the sun. Almost as if to remind me that the night is coming and bringing with it a soft freeze.
